Desolate Cities, Living God Within
Job 15:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse presents a figure who lives in desolate cities and uninhabited houses, signaling an inner state of desolation. It hints that true dwelling is not external, but the I AM within, even amid ruin.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner eye, the 'desolate cities' are states of consciousness where the I AM has not claimed occupancy. The person who 'dwelleth' there does so because thoughts of separation have built empty rooms in the mind; the houses 'ready to become heaps' represent beliefs that have outlived their life and stand as ruins awaiting a new order. But these images are not judgments on you; they are invitations to remember who you truly are. In truth, God is the I AM that looks through your windows at all times, even in the desert of your thoughts. By insisting on the presence of that Life in every ruin, you begin to revise the very architecture of your inner world. Claim the space as yours by feeling the I AM occupying it, repainting the walls with life, and turning vacancy into vibrancy. When you acknowledge that the desolation is simply a temporary condition within consciousness, the outer conditions inevitably respond. The inner city reawakens as you align with the eternal occupant—the self that never departs from its throne.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is the inhabitant of every room, even the ruined ones. Close your eyes, breathe, and silently declare, 'I AM within me now,' visualizing light filling the empty houses.
