Inner Victory Prevails Forever

Job 14:20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 14 in context

Scripture Focus

20Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
Job 14:20

Biblical Context

God's enduring power prevails over the person, causing the old self-image to pass away. It also changes the inner countenance, sending the former self away.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Job 14:20, the I AM is the throne that never abandons you. The 'thou' is the I AM, and the 'him' is the old self-image that believes in limitation. The line proclaims that the I AM prevails forever; the old image passes away, and the countenance of your mind is changed. When you dwell in the awareness that you are already intact, your inner mood shifts from fear to faith, from lack to sufficiency. The change of countenance is an inner revision, a lifting of the eyelids of doubt. And the sending away is the release of the past self-image from your mental screen. This is not effort but recognition: you are not controlling events, you are choosing a state of consciousness that makes events align. The outer scene will reshape itself to reflect your inner clarity.

Practice This Now

Act: Assume the state of the I AM now; revise the scene by saying to yourself, 'The old self has passed away; the I AM now changes my countenance and sends it away.' Then feel the relief and hold that sensation until the image of the old problem dissolves.
