Jeremiah Inner Temple Renewal

Jeremiah 7:8-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

8Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
10And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 7:8-11

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 7:8-11 rebukes the people for trusting lying words and for performing abominations at the temple, while their inner feet remain aligned with other gods. The passage asks if the house named for God is truly a safe place for hypocrisy and calls for inner fidelity.

Neville's Inner Vision

That passage is a scripture of your own inner city. The 'lying words' you trust are the subconscious scripts that keep you feeling unworthy and separate, not profits for your soul. The long list—stealing, murder, adultery, deceit, Baal-worship—speaks to patterns you allow while standing at the temple of your name, believing you are delivered to continue them. The true worship is a change of state from within: the temple is your consciousness, and God is the I AM that you are aware of. If you accept that you are the I AM, you cannot harbor old beliefs and still call the temple holy; the inner sanctuary becomes a den of robbers only when you forget the power you possess to revise. Practice now by assuming the feeling of complete allegiance to your higher self. See the temple cleansing itself as you inhabit a new memory of yourself, where apparent sins are old scripts being rewritten. When you dwell in the I AM, the outer day will reflect that inner truth.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: I AM the temple of truth; I dwell in the I AM. If you catch yourself acting from old habits, revise silently: From this moment, my inner temple is purified and aligned with the I AM.
