Jeremiah 7:21-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

21Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
22For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
Jeremiah 7:21-23

Biblical Context

In Jeremiah 7:21-23, God rejects external sacrifices and commands obedience to His voice. He promises that walking in His ways will bring well-being.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your God is the I AM within, not a distant temple ritual. When the text says Obey my voice, and I will be your God, it reveals a truth of consciousness: obedience is a state you assume. The burnt offerings and flesh symbolize old forms; the real gift is yielding to the inner command and living by it. When you accept that voice as your own, you enter a covenant with God as I AM, and you become a people whose life flows in harmony with the divine pattern you feel. The promise I will be your God becomes the felt reality of being guided by an inner authority that never misleads. Hence, the well-being described is the natural fruit of a mind that has chosen to obey and to walk in all the ways imagined as real by that inner decree. Practically, rest into the assumption that you already are guided, and observe the outer world follows the rhythm of that inner walk.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, listen for the inner voice, and say: I choose to obey your voice now. Feel it real that I am in covenant with the I AM and walking in your ways.
