Biblical Context
Jeremiah 6:6-9 presents divine judgment as an inner siege on Jerusalem. It details oppression within, outward turmoil, and a call to instruction so the I AM may not depart, with a remnant to be gathered.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah presents the inner city of consciousness under a divine warning. The LORD of hosts is the I AM behind every thought, and the command to hew down trees and cast a mount against Jerusalem is a call to prune old beliefs and lay a firmer foundation in the mind. The city to be visited is your inner state that has grown oppressive through fear and habit. The fountain that spews waters stands for the thoughts and feelings that, unchecked, spill into outward conditions of violence, lack, and wound. Before me continually is grief and wounds, indicating the attention you give to pain shapes your experience. Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited, becomes a call to align with the truth of being so that the I AM remains near. Thus saith the LORD, they shall glean the remnant of Israel as a vine—your faithful core survives and is gathered into awareness. Turn back thy hand like a grapegatherer into baskets: collect the harvest within, and feel the fullness of your true nature as already here.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the I AM as your inner Jerusalem and prune away fear, building a strong mental foundation. Then feel the remnant of your true identity gathered within, as if already real.
