Biblical Context
Jeremiah 51:12 tells us to prepare defenses and set watchmen, even ambushes. It also declares that the Lord has devised and will accomplish what He spoke against Babylon.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the vantage of the I AM, the walls you raise are the boundaries of your consciousness. Babylon is not a distant city but the drift of fear, habit, and limitation inside you. The standard upon the walls is a fixed idea you choose to believe about yourself. The watchmen are your vigilant thoughts—your self-concerned attention keeping guard over the picture you entertain of your life. The ambushes are the inner movements that suddenly rearrange the scene, a reversal in belief that exposes the fragility of the old state. And the Lord has devised and done that which He spoke against Babylon—that is, your inner decree becoming your outer experience. God, or the I AM, operates through your imagination to bring about the collapse of the old order and the revelation of the new, already prepared in the mind. Your task is not to plead or endure but to assume the state of the fulfilled wish and dwell there until it becomes your experienced world. When you align with the inner plan, the siege of the old self ends and the new self stands.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare I am the standard on the walls of Babylon; I watch from the I AM within, and the old order dissolves. Hold the feeling of that certainty for several minutes, letting the new state take its place in your mind.
