Jeremiah 31:31-37 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus

31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
35Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 31:31-37 speaks of a coming new covenant not written on tablets but placed within the heart. It promises inner knowing of the LORD, forgiveness of iniquity, and a renewal that outshines the old outward law.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the new covenant is the awakening that the law is not an external code to be kept but an inward disposition inscribed on awareness. The I AM you call God writes this law on your inward parts; you become the people who know the LORD not by memory but by intimate recognition. Forgiveness is the looseness of the old self; memory of sin fades as you stand in the present certainty of being one with divine awareness. The sun by day and the moon by night symbolize the steady order of your inner life; even if external conditions shift, the true covenant endures as your unalterable state of consciousness. When you hold this, no external nation or form can separate you from the life that flows from within. The invitation is to revise your sense of self until it feels inevitable: you are the one who has entered the new covenant now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am in the new covenant now; the law is written on my heart.' Feel the certainty flood your being, forgive past judgments in imagination, and live as one with the LORD within.
