Biblical Context

Jeremiah 30:21 describes nobles arising from among the people and a governor emerging from their midst, with God drawing near to the one who engages his heart to seek Him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this verse you are being told that the nobility and the governor do not come from without, but are the dignities already resident in your own consciousness. The 'nobles' are the high ideas, the decision to lead, the willingness to acknowledge a greater power; the governor arising from the midst is your inner governor, your refined sense of self who takes form from your current state of awareness. God does not export leadership to you from a distant cloud; He whispers that as you dwell in the I AM, a part of you draws near to God. The question 'who engaged his heart to approach unto me?' becomes your invitation: who consents to turn his attention inward, who decides to approach the divine within? When you inhabit the I AM—your awareness as the request and the answer—the governor steps forward, not as a separate person, but as a movement of consciousness that now acts in harmony with the divine presence. Providence is the natural unfolding of your own inner state, ordering your outward life to reflect the kingdom within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the governor is already within you; feel him stepping forward from your own midst and drawing near to the I AM. Rest in that felt reality for a few moments.
