Return to the Inner Covenant
Jeremiah 3:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah 3:1-5 portrays Israel's spiritual infidelity, likening it to a broken marriage and to idolatry. It calls the soul back to the Lord, promising mercy if the inner heart returns.
Neville's Inner Vision
I speak of your inner state, not a weathered land. The land that is 'polluted' by many lovers is your mind when you chase outward things while forgetting the I AM that dwells within you. When you surrender to the many desires, the rains cease—the inner nourishment dries, and you feel the weight of a dry, hardened forehead. The invitation to 'return' is not a historical event but a revision of your sense of self—an awakening alignment with the Father within, your true guide. When you refuse to be ashamed of your past fidelity to appearances, you keep the high places barren; yet you can suddenly cry, 'My Father, thou art the guide of my youth,' and feel the nearness of mercy. The question 'Will He keep His anger?' dissolves in the realization that God is the I AM, the constant presence that never leaves. Your evil deeds are simply misalignments of consciousness; you can choose to dwell in the current of inner love and let the land become fertile again.
Practice This Now
In a quiet moment, assume the I AM as your inner Father; revise any sense of separation by quietly declaring, 'I am returning to my true self now,' and feel the peace as rain returns to your inner land.
