Return to Your Inner Covenant
Jeremiah 3:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage exposes Israel's marital-like unfaithfulness and land defilement through idolatry, then urges repentance and a return to the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah 3:1-3 invites us to notice that the ‘land’ is your inner atmosphere. When you chase many lovers—images, desires, and identities—you pollute the terrain and block the rains of inspiration. The husbandry imagery becomes a map of consciousness: turning away from the One Life and then seeking to reattach is a condition of a restless mind, not a distant historical betrayal. Yet the divine call to return is not judgment but an invitation to reorient your attention to the I AM, the steadfast presence within. Lift your eyes to the high places inside, where attachments lie with counterfeit pleasures, and see the dryness as a signal to repent—an inner willingness to forgive and release stubborn patterns. The harsh language about a ‘whore’s forehead’ is a call to soften resistance and awaken to a pure imagination. Mercy and compassion are always ready to crown your consciousness when you consent to return and renew your covenant with your true self.
Practice This Now
Imaginatively revise a recent moment of seeking elsewhere by silently declaring, 'I return to the I AM.' Feel the land of your consciousness being washed by rain as you align with your true self.
