The Inner Prophet Within
Jeremiah 26:7-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 26 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah proclaims God’s word in the temple; the people threaten him, accusing him of prophesying against the city. Leaders gather and condemn him.
Neville's Inner Vision
I hear Jeremiah as the I AM speaking through my mind, the inner oracle that must be heard within the house of my LORD. The priests, prophets, and people are the various states of consciousness that resist truth when it arises. The death threat is not a physical danger but the ego’s fear of dissolving an old identity; the charge that the city will become desolate reflects a belief giving way to a higher order. After I finish listening to the command, the outer chorus cannot kill my truth—it only reveals how deeply I have trusted appearances. By assuming the truth of my I AM, and by feeling the word as real here and now, I pass through the gate of my inner temple, unscathed. My revision is simple: I am safe; the temple endures; the living word spoken by God is alive in me and manifests as life in my experience.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, stand in the inner temple, and declare, 'I AM that I AM' as you finish your inner speaking. Then revise the scene: the crowd dissolves, you remain unharmed, and the city of your life endures in the truth you spoke.
