Hearing the Inner Word

Jeremiah 25:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 25 in context

Scripture Focus

8Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
Jeremiah 25:8-9

Biblical Context

The text states that because the people did not hear God's words, the LORD will send judgment from the north with Nebuchadrezzar to destroy the land, leaving it desolate. It describes a consequence of not listening: devastation and exile as a sign of inner misalignment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Behold Jeremiah’s message: when the people do not hear the Word, judgment comes. In this inner-reading, the 'land' and the surrounding nations are your states of mind, and the 'north' is the intrusive stream of thoughts that pull you from awareness. The 'LORD of hosts' is your own I AM—pure awareness. When you ignore that Voice, your inner atmosphere becomes desolate, and a 'servant' of the Word—Nebuchadrezzar—arrives as the image of those overpowering thoughts that you have permitted to lead you. Yet this is not punishment, but a mirror: outer disturbances reflect inner misalignment. The remedy is simple: hear the Word now, revise the assumption to align with the divine order, and feel the reality of harmony as already true. When you dwell in the Word, the invader fades, the land is restored, and the kingdoms within are at peace—the kingdom of God within you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you hear the Word and are governed by it. Feel the state as already real in your body.
