Biblical Context
Jeremiah warns that some people think dreams will cause others to forget God's name, echoing the old idolatries of Baal. The verse points to true worship and covenant loyalty to the inner God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the forgetting is not happening to you from without, but a drift of your own consciousness away from the I AM. When you listen to dreams and broadcast them to your neighbour, you invite the illusion of separation—the mind’s habit of telling stories that imply you live in a world apart from God. Jeremiah names Baal as the image of outward worship that relies on forms; in your life, Baal stands for thoughts that pretend to govern you rather than the Presence you are. The name of God is not a mere syllable but the awareness by which you feel, perceive, and dwell. To worship in truth is to acknowledge that you are the living I AM here and now, and that dreams can be understood as mental pictures that pass through but do not define you. By refusing to venerate the dream’s authority, you covenant with the I AM, and the promised reality—unity with God—reforms itself in your experience.
Practice This Now
Assume the true name now: 'I AM that I AM within me is God.' Then revise any dream-story by declaring, 'This dream does not define me; I remain in the One Presence.'
