Inner Exile, Inner Covenant
Jeremiah 16:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah 16:11-13 warns that forsaking the LORD for idols leads to exile and loss. The 'land' they enter is a state of consciousness formed by inner images.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here, I read Jeremiah’s warning as a map of your inner state. The fathers who forsake me are the old you—past identifications with lack, fear, and the need for others' approval. When you walk after the imagination of your evil heart, you are obeying a picture you have consented to, rather than the living I AM that is the sole Reality. The 'land you know not' is not a geography but a shift of consciousness you enter when you stop feeding the sense of separation and dwell in the one Life that animates all. Judgment and exile arise as your attention moves outward, judging appearances instead of recognizing the constant law within. The invitation to return is active: assume you are already in the land of God, where day and night you serve the one Power, and where favor flows as a natural response of your inner state. The moment you align with the I AM, the outer world becomes a faithful echo of your renewed inner image.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, declare, 'I am the I AM; I dwell now in the land of blessing.' Feel the inner atmosphere shift and dwell there for a minute, letting the outer world echo your new inner image.
