Jeremiah 14:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 14 in context

Scripture Focus

14Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
Jeremiah 14:14

Biblical Context

Some voices claim to speak for God, but they are not sent or commanded by Him. Their visions come from the deceit of the heart.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jeremiah 14:14 speaks to the inner stage where voices claim the authority of God. In Neville’s sense, those prophets are states of consciousness that have learned to masquerade as divine guidance; they are not sent by the I AM, but arise from the deceit of the heart—ego-fear, desire, and habit. When you hear a command like, 'Prophesy!' you are being shown a choice: entertain or revise. The true source of prophecy is your I AM, the unconditioned awareness that creates your life. To know it, you must test the message against the calm, loving presence within. If it closes your heart, inflames your fear, or personalizes blame, it is not the vision of your higher Self. You can revise by declaring, 'I did not send these voices; I am the I AM; from this moment I listen only to the truth that arises from within.' Then imagine a vision that aligns with wholeness, prosperity, and peace, and feel it as real now. The moment you disband the counterfeit, the real prophecy—clear, serene, and directing you to your true life—is welcomed into awareness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and declare, 'I am the I AM; I revoke all false prophecies; I embrace the true vision that serves life.' Then hold that vision until it feels real.
