Scripture Focus

23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Jeremiah 13:23

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 13:23 says outward habits cannot be changed by mere effort. It points to the deeper inner work of turning and renewal.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your present verse speaks to fixed states of consciousness. The Ethiopian and the leopard are not outer colors but inner patterns of mind you deem unchangeable. Outward change cannot come by effort alone because the I AM within you remains the same skin you claim. To turn is to revise your inner state; repentance is a renewal of mind, not a moral struggle. When you accept that a new state of consciousness already exists within you, your imagination begins to work as a law. You are not seeking to become good you are becoming the one who already acts from a changed center. By dwelling in the feeling of the new man you clothe the old skin with a new color. Grace then is the natural result of inhabiting a different inner setting and allowing that inner world to express itself through outward acts.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat I AM the man who does good, dwelling in the feeling of that state for five minutes. Visualize one situation where you respond from your new center and let that impression affirm your revised consciousness.
