Inner Grace Through Humble Alignment
James 4:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
James 4:4-6 contrasts forming friendships with worldly values against God, noting envy within the spirit and promising grace to the humble while resisting the proud.
Neville's Inner Vision
James speaks of a conflict that is not out there but within: every time you posture as a friend of the world, you declare independence from your true I AM. The world’s charm is a belief in separation; the Spirit that dwells within is longing to see itself as one with all. When you resist that inner nudging with envy, you feed a gate of enmity between your awareness and its source. Yet the verse also whispers a radical promise: grace is not scarce but abundant to the humble; the I AM resists the proud and favors the meek because humility is the true alignment of consciousness. In Neville’s light, the solution is not withdrawal but revision: identify with the I AM, revise the sense of self from lack and striving to oneness and sufficiency, and let the feeling of unity saturate your being. As you acknowledge you are already one with God, every outward circumstance of the world reflects your inner harmony and grace pours more freely into your life.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and assume the I AM as your only identity. Revise the sense of self to unity, and feel grace rising as you affirm I and God are one; the world reflects your inner state.
