God With Us Within

Isaiah 8:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 8 in context

Scripture Focus

9Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
Isaiah 8:9-10

Biblical Context

The passage warns that relying on political alliances will fail, while still affirming that God is with His people. It invites an inner certainty that the true power lies in the presence of God within.

Neville's Inner Vision

These lines are not about nations so much as states of awareness. 'Associate yourselves' and 'take counsel together' are invitations to lean into a crowd of thoughts, to identify with outer voices. The real power lies in the simple assertion 'God is with us'—not as a political shield, but as an inner fact of your I AM, your timeless awareness. When you accept that, the pieces fall apart of their own accord: the old alliances, the anxious counsel, the speaking of many words. The fear that you will be broken in pieces is the ego’s warning that you are clinging to a separate self-image; relax into the truth that you are one with the God-state within. In that state, external plans that depend on fear or separation come to naught, for the creative energy is redirected to the present I AM. Imagination becomes the instrument: you decree and feel the reality of God’s presence here and now, and the world rearranges itself to fit that inner fact.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am with God; God is with me now.' Visualize the external counsel dissolving into light as you stand steady in the I AM.
