Inner Kingdom Awakening: Isaiah 7:16-17

Isaiah 7:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
17The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
Isaiah 7:16-17

Biblical Context

The passage promises that once a child within learns to refuse evil and choose the good, the land’s old rulers are forsaken. It frames coming upheaval as the outcome of awakening inner states.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the page speaks not of distant lands but of your own inner geography. The land that you abhor represents every habit and belief that holds sovereignty over your mind—fear, limitation, the sense of separation. When a child within you awakens to refuse the evil and to choose the good, that child is not a future infant but an awareness arising as I AM. In that instant the inner kings lose their crown; the kingdoms of old identity slip from your grasp, and your house is left to the incarnating presence of God as I AM. The “days that have not come” are simply the unseen possibilities that emerge when you no longer depend on outer conditions for salvation but rest in inner reality. The line about Ephraim and Judah points to unifying the divided self—no longer letting parts of you rule in contest. And the “king of Assyria”—your fear of loss or lack—begins to dissolve as you abide in the truth that you are the one consciousness, and that consciousness chooses good. Imagination here becomes law, and change is a natural consequence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and declare: I AM the child who refuses evil and chooses good. Feel the old kings fading as your awareness asserts itself.
