New Name for God's Servants
Isaiah 65:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 65 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage contrasts old self-identities and oaths with a new divine naming: God will replace the old names, and those who bless or swear shall align with the God of truth, with past troubles forgotten.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this Isaiah passage I hear a naming that overturns the old self. The earth-woven name becomes a curse for the chosen, and the Lord God shall slay that old designation and call his servants by a new name. This is not history; it is a blueprint for inner reality. The earth’s blessings and oaths are re-scripted by the God of Truth; to swear or bless by anything less would be to substitute the truth for a lie. For us, the invitation is to recognize that I am not bound to my former self or its troubles. In my inner life I imagine God naming me anew, and I respond from the state of that name—illumined, unassailable, and true. When I bless in the God of Truth and swear by the God of Truth, I align my spoken word, my thoughts, and my feelings with an unchanging reality. The old troubles fall from view, forgotten as if vanished from the I AM’s sight. The new name is the present consciousness that God is truth, and I live from that truth right now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, and assume the state of being named by the God of Truth. Feel the new name as your I AM now, and let past troubles fade from your inner sight.
