Inner Cleansing and Calling

Isaiah 64:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 64 in context

Scripture Focus

6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Isaiah 64:6-7

Biblical Context

The passage declares that humanity is impure and our supposed righteousness is worthless; we fade away and our sins scatter us, and God’s presence feels hidden because of iniquities.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the 'we' is a state of consciousness that has forgotten the I AM. Impurity is not a fact in God’s world but a belief in separation; the so‑called righteousness is only a worn garment, a relic of past thoughts. The leaf that fades and the wind that carries away our iniquities describe the restless mind propelled by fear and habit, not a permanent reality. When you insist that you are unclean, you close the door to God’s nearness; when no one calls on the name, you deny the address of your true Self. The cure is not moral struggle but a simple shift of state: assume you are already seen, held, and named by the I AM. In that assumption, the wind settles, the leaf stops falling, and the face of God turns toward you as a present fact. Call upon thy name within, not as a plea but as a recognition of your oneness. If you revise the belief that your iniquities consume you, you awaken to your immediate realization: you are the I AM now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your chest, and say, I am the I AM; feel the presence as already yours. Imagine the divine face turned toward you, and know your oneness in this moment.
