Double Portion, Everlasting Joy

Isaiah 61:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 61 in context

Scripture Focus

7For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Isaiah 61:7

Biblical Context

Those who have endured shame will receive a double portion. Confusion becomes joy as they inherit their land and lasting happiness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Isaiah 61:7 speaks to the inner man. The 'you' is the I AM, the timeless awareness that creates. Your 'shame' is an old self-concept held in a thought you still believe; the 'double' is the amplified life that follows when you refuse that belief and dwell instead in the certainty of your true state. When you revise by affirming, 'I am the possessor of the double portion,' you open a new land within—a realm of abundance where lack cannot dwell. The land you possess is your inner domain of decisions, feelings, and possibilities; to possess the double means your inner measure doubles in faith, hope, and joy. As you hold this assumption, the sense of confusion dissolves into rejoicing in the portion you now claim. Everlasting joy is not future gold but present alignment with your I AM; it becomes your habitual consciousness. You are not begging for blessing; you are declaring your nature and stepping into it, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state: 'I am the possessor of the double portion.' Feel the land of your inner being filling with abundant joy and let that feeling linger for a minute.
