Inner Servant, Arm of God

Isaiah 53:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 53 in context

Scripture Focus

1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:1-6

Biblical Context

Isaiah 53:1-6 speaks of a suffering Servant who bears our griefs and sorrows, wounded for our transgressions, and by whose chastisement our peace is made; humanity often misunderstands or rejects him, and the iniquity of all is laid on him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the report you question is not about an event in history outside you; it is the state of your own consciousness becoming aware. The arm of the LORD is the living power of awareness within you, revealed when you stop doubting and declare, I AM. The Servant who grows up before God as a tender plant from dry ground is your higher self arising from the old dryness of fear and lack. He has no form or comeliness in the old image, but in the new vision you behold him as the truth of your being. He is despised and rejected by the old you, a man of sorrows whose appearance you once avoided; yet this inner Servant bears your griefs and carries your sorrows, freeing you from their claim. When you accept that he was wounded for your transgressions and bruised for your iniquities, you acknowledge that the chastisement of peace was laid upon him, and by his stripes you are healed. All we like sheep have wandered, yet the LORD places the iniquity of us all on this inner being, guiding you back to the I AM—healed, whole, and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, repeat I AM, and revise the scene by placing every burden on the Servant within; feel a rising peace as your mind accepts the healing.
