The Inner Roar of Darkness

Isaiah 5:30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 5 in context

Scripture Focus

30And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
Isaiah 5:30

Biblical Context

Isaiah 5:30 depicts a roar against them like the sea. When you look to the land, darkness and sorrow appear, and the light in the heavens is dimmed.

Neville's Inner Vision

Behold the verse as a mirror of your inner state. The roaring of the sea represents the turbulent thoughts that flood your awareness when you believe in separation. The land you survey becomes your emotional climate: when you fix your gaze there, you see darkness and sorrow as the texture of habits you have accepted. The light dimming in the heavens is the fading sense of divine presence you have allowed through fear or doubt. Remember: you are the I AM, the awareness that stands beyond the apparent scene. The "day" of the verse asks that you revise the scene from the inside out. Make the assumption of a new state of consciousness in which the roar quiets, the land glows with clarity, and the heavens shine with living light. Feel it real—recognize that the outer world is a faithful translation of your inner state. In that revision, the old judgment dissolves, and you discover the promised order in the now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: In a moment, assume the feeling of the fulfilled inner light. See and feel the roar recede; envision the land bathed in calm, and the heavens shining.
