Isaiah 48:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 48 in context

Scripture Focus

10Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Isaiah 48:10

Biblical Context

This verse presents refinement through trial, indicating you are chosen in the furnace of affliction, a process purifying and renewing the inner self.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, what you call God is the I AM within your own consciousness. The furnace is not punishment but the heat of your fixed assumptions asked to turn toward your true nature. Refinement, in this light, is the ongoing purification of your states of consciousness, not a metal forged by silver but a self-formed texture of awareness. When you feel the heat, revise the scene by assuming you are already purified, already chosen, already renewed. The affliction then becomes a catalyst that strips away fear, limitation, and habit, revealing a steadfast sense of self that no outer trial can erase. You are not being scoured from without; you are being crowned from within by the law of inner cause: your imagination creates your experience. Through this inner movement, you are made fit for a new creation, a renewed you, awakened to the power you already possess as the I AM.

Practice This Now

Practice: close your eyes, assume the feeling of having already passed through the furnace, and declare quietly, 'I am refined and chosen now.'
