Inner Covenant Awakening
Isaiah 48:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 48 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse calls out the house of Jacob, outwardly named Israel, who swear by the LORD yet lack truth and righteousness. It declares that God foreknowed their obstinacy and spoke the events from the beginning so credit could not be given to idols.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the language of consciousness, the house of Jacob represents your own thinking that calls itself Israel, the ego that swears by the name of the LORD yet remains unmoved by truth and righteousness. The name The LORD of hosts is not a distant deity but the I AM you identify with. When you cling to outward signs or fall into ritual, you rely on external forms rather than the inner state that makes them possible. God reveals that He spoke the former things into existence, and they came to pass, not to prove external power but to prove that your inner movements precede and determine outer events. The iron neck and brass brow symbolize a fixed, obstinate assumption—your stubborn belief that certain idols command your life. Yet God says, I told you this from the beginning so you would not say your idol brought it about. The essence is clear: your awareness, not your ceremonies, creates. Change your consciousness and the phenomena align with your new awareness, for imagination alone births reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your sense of self by declaring, 'I am the I AM; the end from the beginning is now.' Then feel that this truth gives you the power to act from the fulfilled state.
