Inner Counsel Over Outer Signs

Isaiah 47:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 47 in context

Scripture Focus

13Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
Isaiah 47:13

Biblical Context

The verse declares weariness from many counsels and suggests that turning to astrologers won't save you from what is coming. It points to a need to seek inner guidance rather than external signs.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Isaiah’s line, the weariness is not fatigue of the body but the mind's fever over shifting forecasts. The real weather of your life is not the stars’ chart, but your inner state as you imagine and believe. When you trust external prognostications—astrologers, stargazers, monthly predictions—you are training your consciousness to be led by appearances. Yet God, or the I AM, is the one who notices and therefore creates; you are that self-contemplating power. The moment you reject the outward skillfully spun prophecies and turn your attention inward, you shift the inner motive force. You realize that the future you fear is already reshaped by the man or woman who claims the I AM; your thoughts become the living weather of your days. Stop begging for foretelling and begin assuming. See yourself as the author of every scene, and feel the present mastery of inner wisdom replacing the need for signs. As you persist in this revision, the external conditions align to reflect your inner certainty.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the feeling 'I AM' is the sole source of guidance. Revise the belief that external signs determine your fate, and dwell in that inner assurance for several minutes.
