The I AM Delivers Inner Jerusalem
Isaiah 36:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 36 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage questions the power of foreign gods and declares that their lands were not saved by them. It asserts that only the LORD—the true power—can deliver Jerusalem.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville perspective, the gods of Hamath, Arphad, and Sepharvaim are not distant powers; they are images of your own unrevived states of consciousness. When you feel fear, doubt, or separation, you are entertaining a belief in powers outside your I AM. The question in Isaiah—'Have they delivered...'—invites you to notice whether you still look to externals for safety. In truth, the only deliverer is the I AM that you are right now. Jerusalem represents your wholeness, your undisturbed awareness, the state in which no belief can shake you. As long as you accept that other powers can save you, you remain tethered to those images. When you turn inward and realize that the I AM within governs all, those "gods" fade into the background. Your inner city is saved by your consciousness, not by any material ally. The moment of realization comes as you practice revision: you shift allegiance from limitation to the one power you truly are, and the external appearances reflect your inner peace.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and sink into the I AM. Say, 'The I AM delivers Jerusalem now,' and feel the relief as if it is done.
