Inner Counsel Awakening

Isaiah 30:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 30 in context

Scripture Focus

1Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Isaiah 30:1

Biblical Context

Isaiah 30:1 warns of those who seek counsel from sources outside God and cover themselves with outward plans rather than Spirit, thereby adding sin to sin.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville vantage, the rebellious children are states of consciousness, not distant persons. They take counsel, but not of me, choosing outward voices—custom, fear, opinion—while the inward I AM is silenced. The covering they wear is not a garment but a learned persona, a mask of what the world approves, not the Spirit’s living presence. When you cling to such outer schemes you add sin to sin, for you deny the one source that could reform your conditions: imagination, rightly used, is the creative lamp. The inner voice is always there, beckoning you to align with I AM, to let inner counsel govern your next move. The moment you revise your assumption and decide you are guided by the Spirit within, the imagined world rearranges to match that new state. Judgment softens, not by changing outer facts, but by changing the belief you hold about yourself. You are not punished by circumstance but invited to awaken to the inner decree that I AM is your sole governor.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and affirm, 'I am guided by the inner Spirit.' Revise any external plan to include inner counsel and feel it real.
