Inner Wealth and Idols in Isaiah

Isaiah 2:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 2 in context

Scripture Focus

6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Isaiah 2:6-8

Biblical Context

The verses describe people turning away from their own nation, chasing eastern beliefs and soothsayers. Their land is full of wealth, horses, and idols made by human hands.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the text as a map of your inner life. The 'house of Jacob' is the I AM in you; when you let it be 'replenished from the east' and governed by 'soothsayers,' you permit foreign beliefs to rule your thoughts. The 'land full of silver and gold' and 'horses' and 'chariots' symbolize outer wealth and the illusion of security in form. 'Idols'—the work of hands—represent attachments to your own created pictures and plans, which you worship instead of the inner reality. The warning invites you to return to consciousness: awaken to the one Presence within. Wealth and power become harmless symbols when seen from the inner vantage; they no longer define you. By choosing to imagine from the one I AM, you revise the scene, dissolving idols and letting inner abundance replace fear of lack.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and repeat, 'I am the I AM' until you feel the inner crown of awareness. Then revise any thought of security tied to wealth by dwelling in the sense of inner abundance here and now.
