Scripture Focus

21And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
22And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
Isaiah 19:21-22

Biblical Context

Isaiah 19:21-22 speaks of the LORD being known to Egypt; the people offer sacrifices and vows to the LORD, and He allows both a smiting and healing, guiding them back to Him.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse the 'Egypt' is a state of your own consciousness, and 'the LORD' is the I AM that you are. The moment you acknowledge the LORD in the hidden parts of mind, the resistant energies of fear and limitation begin to melt. The Egyptians knowing the LORD represents your inner recognition dawning in the midst of seeming resistance; outward rites—sacrifice and vow—point to an inner commitment to align with God within. When it says the LORD shall smite Egypt, hear it as the purging of false beliefs that have kept you from living as your true I AM; the smiting makes space for healing to enter. As you return to the LORD, He becomes entreatable by you, and healing flows not from without but from the uplifted state of consciousness that now rests in Godward awareness. The passage invites you to understand hardship as the path to a more intimate, immediate presence of the divine within your own mind.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the LORD is already known within your mind. In stillness, vow to align your life with that awareness, and feel the healing rising through your body.
