Moab's Inner Foundations
Isaiah 16:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moab laments the collapse of its strongholds; the land’s symbols of security are broken and scattered.
Neville's Inner Vision
Moab here is a state of consciousness that clings to fixed foundations—the Kirhareseth, the fields, the vine—imagining strength comes from what can be seen, measured, or controlled. When the verse says they are stricken, it is not a geographic disaster but a moment in consciousness where outer supports crumble and reveal the inner condition. The 'foundations' are inner beliefs; the 'fields' and 'vine' are the energy and aliveness you think you own through effort, status, or appearance. The wandering of the branches and crossing the sea symbolize how a mind, driven by fear or pride, travels in unsettled waters far from its true I AM. Yet the cry of mourning invites you to notice: the mourner still sits within the very I AM that cannot be shaken. This is the invitation to revise: not to cling to outer achievements but to rediscover your consciousness as the solid ground—your own essential being that remains when appearances falter. By turning attention inward, you realize the outer scene is merely a bell calling you back to awareness.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner fact: I AM the unshakable ground of my being. Sit with that feeling until the outer scene loses its grip and you declare, 'I AM' as your real, reality-forming anchor.
