Inner Kingdom Vs Idol Images

Isaiah 10:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 10 in context

Scripture Focus

9Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
10As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
Isaiah 10:9-10

Biblical Context

Isaiah lists rival kingdoms and says they are alike, then declares that God has found and exposed the idols—Jerusalem and Samaria standing for true worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the cities named are not separate powers in the world outside you, but states of consciousness within. The line 'As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols' means your I AM has already found and unmasked the idol-consciousness you have entertained. The idols of Calno, Carchemish, Hamath, Arpad, Damascus are your habitual pictures of power, safety, and reputation. Jerusalem and Samaria symbolize true worship, an inner alignment with the I AM, while the idols excel them only in the dream. You do not attack the image; you shift your identification from the image to your essential self. When you accept that the outer order follows from inner belief, you can revise the belief, feel the wish fulfilled, and see the cities rearrange themselves into harmony with the I AM.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume, 'I AM the ruler of my inner city.' Revise the image of any conquered empire into a temple of wholeness and feel the I AM reigning now.
