Inner Fire, Outer Renewal
Isaiah 10:17-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage depicts inner purification: the inner light (awareness) burns away thorny fears and the old forest of identity, making way for renewal. Only a few true trees remain, signaling a fresh creation that the mind can write anew.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Isaiah’s vision, the light of Israel is not a distant flame but your I AM awakening. The Holy One is the flame you become when you dwell as awareness rather than the fear-identified self. The thorns and briars are habitual thoughts and old conditions—once touched by the intensity of inner fire, they burn away in a single moment. The glory of the forest and the fruitful field stands for the former body and its stories, consumed so completely that only pure consciousness remains, strong and simple, as a standard-bearer who has fainted, ego exhausted. Yet do not fear that the rest of the trees will be many; in this quiet, a child may write them anew. The new creation emerges not by battling the world but by returning to the inward state that already is. When you assume you are the Fire and Flame, you align with the truth that your imagination is the creative power. The world you see is the outward sign of an inward decision. So dwell as the I AM, and watch the old forms dissolve, making room for a fresh, simple life.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, rest in the I AM presence, and declare, 'I am the light that burns away fear.' Then visualize a sparse forest with only a few sturdy trees you write with ease; feel the renewal as if it is already done.
