Seeking the Hidden Lord

Hosea 5:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 5 in context

Scripture Focus

6They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
Hosea 5:6

Biblical Context

Hosea 5:6 shows people going out with their flocks to seek the LORD, yet they do not find him because he has withdrawn himself. The passage points to an inner dynamic: outward seeking reveals a consciousness separate from the presence within.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville Goddard perspective this scene is not about geography but about consciousness. The flocks and herds are outward symbols, while the Lord withdrawn signifies the I AM retreating when attention rests on actors and objects. What Hosea calls absence is the invitation to turn inward and discover that presence already dwells in you. You do not find God by chasing him in temples or ceremonies; you awaken to the fact that you are the vessel in which presence abides. The Lord is not a distant event but the living sense of I AM here now. To experience him you must assume the state of that presence. Begin by telling yourself that you already are the Lord in your daily mind, and feel that identity flood your atmosphere until your surroundings register from that center. When you revise your sense of withdrawal, you restore the moment of return and open the way for guidance, mercy, and companionship to be felt as your immediate reality.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare I am the presence now; feel that inner Lord flooding your consciousness and radiating into your surroundings. Repeat daily until the perception of withdrawal dissolves.
