Hosea 13:9-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 13 in context

Scripture Focus

9O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
10I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
11I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
12The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
Hosea 13:9-12

Biblical Context

Israel has destroyed itself by turning from God; true salvation is found in the I AM within, not in external kings or judges. God declares He will be king and reveals the hidden guilt of Ephraim.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scripture, 'Israel' represents your own consciousness. When you say 'in me is thine help,' you are being asked to turn from outward authorities to the I AM within, the true sovereign. The statement 'I will be thy king' invites you to let your inner reality replace external assurances; the old outward kings—fears, dogmas, and authorities—are reflections of a mind that forgot its unity with God. When you imagine a king raised in anger or wrath, you are not seeing a separate ruler but a consciousness that believes itself separate from the One Power. The line 'The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid' indicates guilt remains hidden only while you maintain separation; the moment you choose inner reign, that hidden guilt is dissolved. By turning inward and assuming the king's reign, you align with the I AM and allow life to flow in proper order, freeing you from self-destruction.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat, with feeling: I am the King within me; my salvation is within me now. See yourself ruling your life from that inner throne and dwell there until it feels natural.
