Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Hosea 13:7-9 portrays God as watching over Israel with fierce imagery, suggesting their downfall comes from their own inner states, while true help rests in the inner I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this passage, the lion, leopard, and bear are not external punishers but inner conditions of consciousness that arise when you forget your I AM presence. The 'caul' torn from the heart is the exposing of old beliefs that cover your true awareness; the devouring is the breaking of those attachments. Yet the pivotal line, 'in me is thine help,' is the invitation to awaken to your inner God—your unchanging awareness. When you identify with the I AM, the threats of judgment recede as you revise the story you have believed about yourself. You are not at the mercy of external forces; you are the observer and creator within, capable of dissolving fear by refusing to yield to it and by affirming the reality that you are already one with the divine presence. Salvation, then, is the inward conversion from fear-filled states to awakened consciousness, where the affirming sense of I AM renders the old imagery powerless.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, declare, 'I AM that I AM; I am my own salvation,' and feel the presence of the I AM here now. Allow the inner lion to soften into calm as you dwell in this awareness for several minutes.
