Inner Mercy and Salvation
Hebrews 2:14-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hebrews 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage says that Christ shared in our human nature, conquered death’s power to free us from fear and bondage, became like us to be a merciful high priest, and can help those tempted.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this scripture the Christ is the I AM within you, taking on flesh as your awareness. The 'children' are your states of consciousness; 'death' is the ending of a false self, the bondage born of fear. Through an inner act of death to limitation, the power of death—the devil—loses its grip. He did not take on angels but the seed of Abraham—the line of faith in you—so that you may be a merciful and faithful high priest in your own life, making reconciliation between your mind and God. Because he suffered and was tempted, he becomes your succor, your companion in temptation. Therefore you can identify with that inner priesthood now: forgive the imagined sins of separation, and reconcile your life to the divine. Temptation and suffering are moves within consciousness, not you. You remain the I AM, the witness; from that anchorage you dissolve fear and awaken harmony with divine will. The verse invites you to dwell in that state until it feels present in your body and days.
Practice This Now
Imagine and assume the state: 'I AM the merciful High Priest within me, reconciling all fear.' Feel that truth as present reality now.
