Biblical Context
Hebrews 10:23-25 calls for steadfast faith, mutual exhortation, and regular gathering as a spiritual practice. It links inner unity with outward acts of love and service.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the verse I hear the I AM speaking: do not waver in your profession, for the wish you hold in consciousness is already granted by the faithful Promise. Faith is not a token you carry, but the state of awareness you inhabit. When I turn to consider my fellow beings, I am not simply being kind; I am stirring a latent love and guiding it into action. To provoke unto love and to good works means I use inner attention to awaken what is real and present in others, by reflections of my own divine nature. The assembly is not only a meeting of bodies but a gathering of minds in agreement with the truth of God within; I do not forsake that inner congregation, for its power sustains me. Exhortation becomes a gentle conviction that embodies the day of the Lord as a present reality—my consciousness expanding, my relationships transformed, my world illuminated by the presence I am. In this light, faith, fellowship, and action align as one living organism.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare 'I am the I AM; I hold fast to my faith without wavering.' Then imagine a circle of minds gathered in warmth, exhorting one another to love and to acts of goodness.
