Inner Gift to Esau
Genesis 32:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jacob instructs his messengers to declare themselves as Esau's servants and to present gifts ahead of their meeting. The aim is peace through deliberate generosity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take this scene as a map of inner negotiation. Jacob's gifts to Esau are not merely tokens; they symbolize a state of consciousness whereby the I AM, your true self, speaks first to fear, declaring the self as servant yet in command of the outcome. Esau represents the outward, reactive mind—the part that trembles at loss, at separation, at the unknown. By saying 'they be thy servant Jacob's' and by organizing 'the second and the third' to follow, you are rehearsing a discipline: align your thoughts in order, present your gifts (decisions, acts of love, compassionate deeds) ahead of time, and assert that the inner governor is at peace with what the outer world may bring. As you repeat the assumption of reconciliation, you feel the barrier between your inner and outer life dissolve; fear yields to a quiet assurance that you and your brother are one in the consciousness that you are already loved.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and declare: Esau is behind us; I am reconciled. Visualize the procession of gifts moving toward Esau until his heart softens and peace settles in.
