Biblical Context
Genesis 31:48-49 speaks of a heap as witness between Laban and Jacob, named Galeed and Mizpah. It declares that the LORD watches between them when they are apart.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM lens, the heap is not merely stone but a symbolic boundary within consciousness. Galeed and Mizpah become inner stations where two states of awareness acknowledge one another under the gaze of God—the I AM that never leaves you. The 'LORD' is not a person but your own abiding awareness, the watcher that remains when you imagine yourself separated from another or from a desired outcome. Separation, in this light, is an appearance in mind; the watch between me and thee is the continuous, compassionate attention of consciousness holding both sides in one field. To practice, imagine stepping into that boundary and affirm: I am always watched by the I AM; my present state is protected by this covenant of consciousness. Feel the boundary as a ring of peace surrounding the moment, and allow the sense of separation to soften into unity. In doing so, you invite Providence and align your inner life with wholeness rather than lack.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM as the watcher between you and another. Revise any sense of separation by affirming 'The LORD watches between us' and feel the presence now.
