Neville's Inner Vision

Genesis 25:11 speaks of a death—the old patriarchal idea of self—and the birth of a new state: God blessed Isaac. To the inner reader, the story means your own awareness receives its blessing when you cease looking outward. When you recognize God as I AM, the blessing is no longer given; it is revealed, here and now. Isaac, the inner idea of you that remains steadfast, dwells by the well Lahairoi—the symbol of awareness that sees you and your needs. The well is your now; to drink from it is to know that you are blessed as your awareness is awake to itself. The death of Abraham liberates the son to receive with no deficiency, for in God there is fullness. So the blessing is an inner state you assume and feel as real, not a future event.

Practice This Now

Practice: Sit in quiet, close your eyes, and declare, 'I am the blessed Isaac, here and now, by the well Lahairoi, where the I AM sees me.' Then feel the gratitude and the certainty that this blessing is already present in your awareness.
