Galatians 4:15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul recalls the Galatians’ claimed blessedness and their zeal. They would have sacrificed their own eyes to show devotion to his message.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 15 speaks not of physical sacrifice but of an inner feast—an exquisite readiness to forego ordinary sight for the sake of Truth. The blessedness is an inner atmosphere, a state of trust in the I AM that Paul and the Galatians share. The speaker bears witness that, had it been possible, they would have plucked out their eyes and given them to him; this reveals a heart supremely devoted to the teaching, a conviction that nothing seen by the senses equals the reality already existing in consciousness. In Neville’s terms, the Galatians’ zeal is the imagination choosing to abandon outward appearances in favor of inner vision. It is not about deprivation but about prioritizing the idea that God is within, that your awareness creates your world, that fidelity to the Truth dissolves lack. So the current moment: you are invited to test the same abandonment by assuming you already possess the blessed state, and that perception obeys your inner choice rather than external reports. If you feel the truth now, you have performed the deed within.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, place your hand on your heart, and declare: I am the blessedness within me; I would give up external sight to know the I AM. Then rest in the feeling of inner vision awakening, letting perception align with that present truth.
