Inner Sacred Stewardship
Ezra 8:28-29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezra 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse declares that the people and the vessels are holy unto the LORD, and the silver and gold are a freewill offering to God. It instructs them to guard these offerings until they are weighed before the priests in the house of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you the Ezra scene unfolds as your awareness awakening to stewardship. The holy vessels are your faculties—thinking, feeling, choosing—set apart to the LORD of your consciousness. The silver and gold are the ideas and energies you freely offer from your imagination to the I AM who is your true self. To watch and keep them is to attend to your inner signs, until your inner priests—the higher self—weigh their value against divine law and align them with your true purpose. The house of the LORD is the sanctuary of awareness where you dwell as I AM. When you treat your offerings as holy, you stop selling yourself short and begin to see that your wealth of ideas and acts is the free gift of God from within. So you are not begging for return; you are giving and receiving from your own divine nature, in perfect order.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet and declare, I am the I AM. Visualize placing a chosen thought, gift, or resource on the inner scale of your sanctuary and feel it weighed by your higher self as holy and accepted.
