Biblical Context
Ezra 6:3–5 records Cyrus's decree to rebuild the Jerusalem temple, restore its vessels, and fund the work. It speaks to a turning of the outer order to support true worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the reader, the decree is not a mere incident of old history but a signal from the I AM, your own awareness, that the inner sanctuary may be rebuilt here and now. The 'house of God at Jerusalem' is the temple you carry within—the state of consciousness in which sacrifice, worship, and communion occur. Cyrus, the great king, represents your higher self who issues a royal decree from within: let the foundations be laid firmly and the walls raised by aligned thought and feeling. The 'three rows of great stones' and 'a row of new timber' describe the architecture of your renewed self: the old granite of belief (stones) tempered by fresh timber of inspiration. The returning vessels are the remembered presence of your divine nature; when you assent, they are restored to their rightful place, not in a building abroad but in the sanctuary of your own heart. The outer economy—the king's treasury—echoes inner supply: your faith funds the renovation, and what you place in spirit returns as experience. This is renewal: a new creation manifesting as inner order, true worship, and covenant fidelity within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the inner decree now: 'Let the house of God be rebuilt within me.' Feel the foundations being laid as confidence grows; imagine placing golden vessels back into your temple and notice your life aligning to support this creation.
