Inner Builders of Jerusalem
Ezra 1:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezra 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The leaders of Judah and Benjamin, together with the priests and Levites, rise with the Spirit God raised to rebuild the house of the LORD in Jerusalem. Those around them strengthen their hands with silver, gold, goods, beasts, and precious offerings.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the consciousness, Ezra 1:5-6 becomes a portrait of an I AM rising. The chief fathers, the priests, the Levites, and all whom God has stirred are not marching on a city; they rise inside me to build the inner temple where truth dwells. The band of helpers around them mirrors the supportive thoughts, moods, and circumstances that align when I accept my divine birthright. When this state is alive, resources—silver, gold, goods, even beasts—flow as natural correspondences of energy, talent, and opportunity, drawn by a settled feeling that it is done. The words about what is offered remind me that giving and receiving are the same living energy when I am in harmony with God's covenant. The whole scene is a reminder that the temple is built by consciousness, not by external force, and that unity of purpose attracts external backing. Therefore, I dwell in the assumption that my inner work is complete, and the world rearranges itself to reflect that reality.
Practice This Now
Assume the state now: I AM that I AM; I have rebuilt the temple within. Then feel the surrounding support—resources, allies, and opportunities—as already given, and let that feeling saturate your day.
