Inner Gates of Worship
Ezekiel 8:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
In Ezekiel 8:5-6 the prophet sees an image of jealousy at the entrance of the altar, a symbol of idolatry. It shows how such outward acts push God away from the sanctuary.
Neville's Inner Vision
The vision invites you to see the inner weather of your own consciousness. The 'north' is the direction your attention turns when it seeks security outside yourself; the 'image of jealousy' is not a thing out there but a belief-image your imagination has mistaken for reality. When you identify with that image, you distance yourself from the sanctuary of your I AM and invite the sense of absence. The great abominations are the habitual thoughts that pretend to govern your life, drawing you away from awareness. Yet the text is not a condemnation but a summons: turn again, awaken to the presence that is always here. Recognize that the I AM remains unmoved by appearances and that you can revise the scene by choosing a different state of consciousness. By reaffirming your unity with the I AM and attending to inner awareness, you dissolve the imagined gap and return to the sanctuary where God resides as the always-present consciousness you are.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the I AM is the room you inhabit; turn your gaze inward and revise the image of jealousy into a vision of divine presence. Feel the shift as you rest in that awareness for a moment and let the sanctuary return.
