Inner Temples: Ezekiel 8 Vision

Ezekiel 8:10-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 8 in context

Scripture Focus

10So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
11And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
13He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
15Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
Ezekiel 8:10-16

Biblical Context

Ezekiel 8:10-16 reveals inner rituals of idolatry: images on the wall, elders with censers in private chambers, and sun-worship in the inner court. It shows that false worship begins as inner states within consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Behold the vision as a map of consciousness. The wall with idols is the boundary of your present assumptions; the seventy elders with censers are the habitual authorities you permit to perfume your prayers. The dark chambers where they conspire symbolize concealed inner images you accept as real when you forget your own I AM. The women weeping for Tammuz and the sun-worshipers facing east reveal egoic cycles that place light outside of you, promising safety in distance from the true temple. Yet the message is not judgment but invitation: turn within and revise; affirm that you are the I AM, the witness in whose light all forms vanish. The inner court is your awareness becoming alight; every abomination you see is a belief in separation dissolving under consciousness. In this moment you can rewrite the scene, transforming every idol into an expression of your own divine consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of being the I AM wherever you stand. Revise the belief they see us not to I am always the witness, and illuminate every chamber.
