Alas for Inner Abominations
Ezekiel 6:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares through Ezekiel that a dramatic outward lament accompanies the judgment on Israel; the threat of sword, famine, and pestilence signals consequences arising from inner misalignment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, all people are states of consciousness—Israel is the pattern of your divided thoughts. When the voice cries, 'smite with thy hand, stamp with thy foot,' you are being invited to perform an inner act of conviction, to announce to the inner air, 'Alas for the old abominations within me.' The 'Lord GOD' speaks as your I AM, not as an external God over you, but as the awareness that governs every movement of mind. The sword, famine, and pestilence are symbolic images of the consequences you experience when you cling to fear, lack of discipline, or self-condemnation. As you condemn a former state, you empower it to dissolve; as you stamp and declare 'alas,' you release the old patterns from the field of your thoughts. The verse is a call to responsibility: you are the cause of your conditions, and your next feeling, belief, or image can abolish the former condition. Thus, the only exile to be feared is the inner exile from your true I AM presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: close your eyes and, in spirit, stamp the firm conviction that you have renounced the old abominations; then assume a new state of harmony, 'I am whole now,' and feel it real for 5 minutes.
