Biblical Context
Ezekiel 48:31-33 shows gates named for the tribes, arranged north, east, and south, signaling how shared loyalty and the Presence define the city.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the gates not as stone, but as the states of your own consciousness. The city becomes your inner house, where the I AM stands at the center and the gates mark the faculties you choose to align with divine will. The three northern gates—Reuben, Judah, Levi—stand for impulse, loyalty, and service; the eastern gates—Joseph, Benjamin, Dan—for dreaming, planning, and courageous action; the southern gates—Simeon, Issachar, Zebulun—for work, harmony, and illumination. When you acknowledge these gates, you acknowledge a shared inner kingdom; the Presence of God is the awareness you ARE the I AM, here and now. The covenant loyalty is your fidelity to that awareness, choosing again and again to let each gate reflect divine intention rather than fear or circumstance. In this light, the outer world rearranges itself as a map of your inward unity—discord dissolves as you imagine the gates opening, letting God’s light pass through every chamber. You become the city whose gates carry the names of your perfected states.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and envision the three northern gates as your inner faculties. Repeat 'I AM' is present now and feel light flowing through each gate into your whole being.
